Equipment repair

Equipping a shop with test equipment to design, tune, and repair radio equipment has turned into an effort to repair test equipment. First, it took 3 SWR indicators (ala HP415E's) and recapping one to finally have one that worked. Then my .01-2.4GHz sweeper threw errors that indicated air flow fault (dead fan) in addition to the 1Khz AM modulation I need to run with the 415 not working. Then the HP 141T spectrum analyzer failed. Arrgggh!

Microwave Reflections: A Journey

I have worked toward an understanding of the principles of microwave-related circuitry and measurement techniques over the last number of months. I am finally gaining some traction and earning some insights that I thought might be useful to others. So, today, I'm starting this blog.
